President: Rachel Hoffman, M.S.Ed., PC
Rachel Hoffman is currently a doctoral student and teaching fellow in the Counseling and Human Services Program at Kent State University . She earned her M.S.Ed. in community counseling from Youngstown State University and is a licensed professional counselor . Rachel has been involved with Chi Sigma Iota since 2003, on both local and national levels. Rachel has served as President of the Eta chapter at Youngstown State University and was awarded a CSI international fellowship for her service to this chapter in 2005. During her first year as a doctoral student, Rachel served as the social co-chair for the Kappa Sigma Upsilon Chapter. In addition to her local service, Rachel also serves as a student member of the CSI international awards committee and the CSI international chapter advisory committee. Rachel is involved in numerous professional development organizations, such as ACA, ACES, and AMCD and was the 2006-2007 President of the East Ohio Counseling Association (EOCA).

President-Elect: Michelle Hinkle, M.A.
Michelle Gimenez Hinkle is currently a Ph.D. student and teaching fellow in the Counseling and Human Services program at Kent State University. She earned a M.A. in Counseling with a concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy from East Tennessee State University. This is Michelle’s first year as an active member in the Kappa Sigma Upsilon chapter of Chi Sigma Iota, and she has been proud to represent the chapter at various functions throughout this academic year. In addition to being a member of Chi Sigma Iota, Michelle also has membership in ACA, ACES, and AAMFT.

Past President: Brandy Kelly, M.S.Ed., PC, NCC
Brandy Kelly is currently a Ph.D. student and teaching fellow in the Counseling and Human Services Program at Kent State University. She earned her M.S.Ed. in community counseling from Youngstown State University . Brandy's commitment to Chi Sigma Iota is exemplified in her service to the organization at both the local and International level. She has served as President of the Eta chapter, Social Chair of the Kappa Sigma Upsilon chapter and was awarded one of two international internships in 2003. Brandy's warm and welcoming personality, as well as her strong adherence to professional identity as a counselor, will add to the growth and development of the Kappa Sigma Upsilon chapter.

Treasurer: Heather Tarian
Heather Tarian is currently a M.Ed. Student in the Counseling and Human Services Program at Kent State University. She is working on her second year in the school counseling program. Heather earned her B.A. in sociology and criminology from Ohio State University. This is Heather’s first year as a member of Chi Sigma Iota. She is honored to have the opportunity to assist with the Kappa Sigma Upsilon chapter.

Archivist:
The individual is responsible for capturing the highlights of the chapter events, activities, and programs by, but not limited to taking pictures, gathering testimonials, and other memorabilia.

Class Liaisons:
Comprised of many individuals representing as the link between the CSI executive committee and the student body at large. They distribute and communicate events, activities, and announcements about the chapter.

Community Outreach:

Responsible for organizing events that focus on assisting community agencies over a variety of domains.

Fundraising:
Responsible for creating and planning fundraising activities to help financially support the Kappa Sigma Upsilon chapter as well as the counseling students at Kent State University and professionals in the community.

General Service Committee:
Consisting of individuals who want to help when an extra hand is needed with various events, activities, and programs.

Newsletter:
Responsible for creating one newsletter a semester that will serve as communication with Kappa Sigma Upsilon members and will include messages from executive officers and committee chairs, upcoming events, celebration of student scholarship, and other relevant issues.

Professional Development: Chair - Caroline Perjessy
Responsible for organizing and planning events that promote professional development in the counseling profession such as the Symposium on Supervision.

Publicity Chair:
Responsible for creating and circulating advertisements to promote upcoming events.

Social Committee: Chair - Stephanie Burns
Responsible for organizing and planning events that allow Chi Sigma Iota members and students the opportunity to network and connect such as the annual initiation banquet.

Awards Committee:
Responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing an effective awards program which will provide the opportunity for leadership development and recognition of excellence among chapter members.

Web Master: Stephanie Burns
Responsible for maintainig the Kappa Sigma Iota chapter website to CSI International standards.

Counseling students with 10 or more credit hours and a minimum GPA of 3.5 are eligible to become a CSI member. Contact Rachel Hoffman if interested.
